Job Description: KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Attend safety and practical training sessions. Perform general maintenance tasks, including replacing bulbs, plug tops, washers, valves, locks, windowpanes, tiles, curtain rails, and toilet systems. Conduct routine checks and maintenance on generators, batteries, gas cylinders, air conditioning units, and ventilation systems. Carry out minor repairs to hospital beds, furniture, walls, floors, and fixtures, including painting and redecoration. Maintain plumbing and sewer systems, including clearing blockages and repairing leaks. Clean and maintain facility components such as fans, gutters, downpipes, and work areas. Complete administrative duties such as daily timesheets, job signoffs, and material usage records. Manage and safeguard tools, equipment, and materials issued, request supplies when needed, and supervise assistants if assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT Grade 12 certificate Relevant technical or maintenance-related training will be an added advantage. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance. Trade certificate (advantageous but not essential). Must have a valid drivers license. Health and safety training (advantageous). Minimum relevant experience in general maintenance or handyman work. Ability to perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs.
