Vacation Programme is a highly selective, six-day immersive investment analysis experience designed for exceptional final-year and postgraduate students who are seriously considering a career in asset management. This is not a passive observation exercise — it is an active, challenging programme in which you will be expected to think, analyse, argue, and deliver. Over 6 days, you will move through a structured curriculum covering the asset management ecosystem, business analysis and forming an investment synthesis. By the end of the programme, you will have analysed a JSE-listed company from first principles and presented an investment view to senior investment professionals. Duties and Responsibilities Hands-on exposure to the investment process used by a leading South African asset manager. A working knowledge of financial statement analysis and DCF valuation methodology. Coaching and mentorship from active portfolio managers and senior research analysts. Full attendance for all six programme days is required. Applicants must be based in South Africa and be able to attend in person in Cape Town for the duration of the programme – accommodation will be provided. Ideal Experience Final-year undergraduate (3rd or 4th year), Honours / Postgraduate Diploma, or Master’s students. Students who have graduated within the past 12 months may also apply. Applicants should arrive with a working understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement etc.), basic valuation concepts, and the vocabulary of financial markets. You do not need to be an expert – you do need to be ready to expand further in your learnings.
